Born in the Inland Northwest and raised by entrepreneurs, I learned at a young age what it meant to roll up your sleeves and work hard. Those lessons came in the form of mucking stalls at the stables where I rode, at my family's island property where we'd work on cleaning up the beaches, and at my mother's quilt shop where I'd organize color walls and design displays.
Throughout my education, it was always a battle between the two sides of my brain: The creative and the logical. Underwhelmed by the thought of foregoing one for the other, I pursued both and graduated from Boise State University with a dual bachelors in Business Management and Visual Arts, with an emphasis in photography.
It was during my time in Boise, Idaho, that I discovered the Snake River Valley wine-growing region. Bored by the status-quo prospects of the post-college world, I worked a harvest at Cinder Winery to try something 'cool and different.' Little did I know how wine would change my life.
The wine industry embodies everything I am passionate about: Friends and family gathering, story telling, travel and culture, the arts and science. It was a revelation when I realized I could make a living centered around those philosophies.
Since moving to Napa Valley, I have had the great fortune of learning from some of the best in the industry. The opportunities for creative outlets are endless, as well as the need for smart business sense for true entrepreneurial efforts. And that is exactly where I come in!
